It is with joy to announce that the Almyrida Resort will participate in the Matka Exhbition in Helsinki Finland, from 19 January to 22 January 2012.

The Matka Fair Trade is one of the biggest in the Scnadinavian region, and the first one in the area, for 2012.

The Almyrida Resort will be there with its own stand, in "6b111", named "Kalimera Kreikka"!

We will be happy to see as many of you as possible, either business visitors or people looking to plan a vacation.

A trade fair is always full of surprises, and we are excited to participate.

Winter Fayre in Almyrida

Dear Friends,

The Winter Fayre took place yesterday 27 November, in Almyrida. A joint effort of the Almyrida Resort and Crete Island Estate. This is a small review and photos of the wonderful time we had. The aim of the Fayre was to raise funds for the Vamos Health Center.

A Big Thank you to everybody who participated, either from the selling part or the buying part of the game!
There was pretty much everything to be found. From live music and food, to homemade cookies and specialties. And because pictures are better than words

Jewels and homemade Art were to be found.

Flowers and more jewels.

The Band Playtime performed during the start of the fayre.

And Since Christmas is Coming, Santa couldn't be missing.

Face painting for (mostly) Children. And o more jewels.

In The Evening the Band Sigana Potamia performed live, closing musically this beautiful day.

During the Fayre there was also a Raffle, and Auctions, for the same cause (Vamos Health Center).

All in all it was a day to remember, and a day we'll try to make even better next year!

Again a Big thank you to everybody!

The Season has ended, and a cloudy November has arrived. On 27th of November, together with Crete Island Estates, we organize a Winter Fayre in the Almyrida Residence Boutique Hotel.

A little bit of Winter and Christmas Spirit. Live Music, Raffle, Prizes, Santa, Food, and of course christmas moods.

Fashion Show in Support of KIFAMEA

Dear Friends,

Today, Saturday 8th of October, a Fashion show was held in the Almyrida Residence Boutique Hotel, on our lovely Roofgarden. The show was made for charity reason to support the KIFAMEA, which is a Day Center for Children with Special Needs. The turnout was big and we are thankfull that we were a part of it, by providing our Roofgarden, of course without charge.

The Roof Garden was prepared with a nice red catwalk

The day has been fabulous, and the roofgarden is perfect under the cloudless sky,

The Srtands were prepared before the begining of the show, with wonderful items.

The fashion show began at 11:00, with a brieft introduction about the purpose of the event, the support of KIFAMEA. Some information were given, and a huge, kindly-hearted applause followed....

And the Show began, with the models walking the catwalk.

all models on the catwalk, for the final applause.

After the show, a raffle took place, and people were free to shop from the stands.

A Very nice day, with very nice people, for a nice cause, in a nice place. What else can one ask for such a beautiful day in October.

A Big thank you to everyone that participated, and we hope to be able to organize similar events in the future.

As September is also flying away very fast, i have to admit that it has been a nice summer in Almyrida, and Almyrida Resort. We have had many events, and some are still about to happen. Keep in mind, that the weather in crete, is still very nice. Some clouds and rain might only occur for a few days, and in general, people can go swiming untill late october, so for last minute travellers, Almyrida remains a very nice destination.
even if it might get a bit too cold for your taste, crete has much more to offer than just sun and beaches.

Crete has wonderfull mountains, and exciting hikings paths, a beautiful countryside, ruins of ancient civilizations, monasteries, nice bars, restaurants and on top of all that, open-hearted and friendly people.

About the museum: The museum is housed in an imposing building, the renovated Venetian church of Saint Francis.
It contains impressive finds from the excavations of the ancient city of Kydonia, from Idramia, Aptera, Polyrinia, Kissamos, Elyros, Irtakina, Syia, Lissos, Chania, Axos, and Lappas (the last two in the prefecture of Rethymno).
The exhibits, painted larnakes of the late minoan period, vases and implements from the geometric period, statues from the Hellenistic and Roman period, as well as an exquisite Roman mosaic floor, are all outstanding.
